Kira
Privacy Policy

Overview
Kira helps groups split receipts by scanning a receipt, creating a shared claim link, and calculating what each person owes. This policy explains what data Kira handles and how it is used.
Information we process
- Receipt images and extracted receipt details needed to calculate a split.
- Session metadata such as item count, totals, file type, parse duration, and safe error codes.
- Anonymous browser or session identifiers for basic product analytics.
- Names entered by participants inside a shared split session.
What we do not send to analytics
Kira's analytics pipeline is intentionally minimal. We do not send receipt images, item labels, participant names, raw error messages, payout details, or account numbers to analytics tools.
How we use data
- To parse receipts and calculate bill splits.
- To keep the shared claim page working for everyone in the session.
- To understand whether Kira is working, where people get stuck, and what needs fixing.
- To prevent abuse and debug reliability issues.
Third-party services
Kira may use infrastructure and analytics providers to run the product, host the website, parse receipts, and measure product usage. These providers process data only as needed to provide their services.
